Comparison between Ford Fiesta and Kia Sorento

The 2014 Ford Fiesta is a fierce competitor in the small car market, and it is available in hatchback and sedan versions.
The wide horizontal grille is the most obvious change in the 2014 model of Fiesta, making it very similar to the new generation Fusion models. The headlights and taillights have been completely changed, and new design updates help in responding to aerodynamics by up to 5% than before. Helps in fuel economy. With the Super Fuel Economy package, the car gets 30 mpg city and 41 mpg highway.
Most 2014 Fiesta models are powered by the 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, which produces 120 horsepower and 112 pound-feet of torque. With a five-speed manual transmission, fuel consumption is 27/38 mpg city/highway, or a six-speed automatic transmission has a fuel economy of 29/39 mpg city.
In the 2014 models, two new engines appear, a 1.0-liter three-cylinder with 123 horsepower for maximum fuel economy of 30/40 mpg city/highway. The high-performance Fiesta ST direct-injected 1.6-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine produces 197 horsepower and 202 pound-feet of torque.
The new built-in MyKey technology allows parents (parents) to set the vehicle’s speed limit as well as stereo volume and prevents safety devices and equipment from being disabled while driving.
A six-speed POWERSHIFT dual-clutch automatic transmission is an option on most models, and is able to reduce shift time while improving fuel economy.
Enhancements to the cockpit include a new instrument panel inspired by the look of a mobile phone. With comfortable seats and an audio synchronization system that allows users to control the vehicle’s functions by speaking. With the MyFordTouch interface that comes on a 6.5 inch touch screen.
Kia Sorento
The 2014 model of the Kia Sorento received a number of significant updates, as the restyling of the new model covered 80 percent of the entire model.
Updates to the Sorento include a redesigned front and rear fascia, a new V6 engine, and a re-engineered chassis from scratch. Along with the new power steering system, improvements to the suspension and brake system, with improvements to the interior of the car and updates to the integrated infotainment system.
Depending on which trim you’re after, the 2014 Sorento came in the same unibody design, with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive as an option.
Although Kia is still offering the smaller model known as the Sportage, Kia is targeting the crossover market integrated with the Sorento as well, and the most powerful weapon in the car here is the size advantage, as the Kia Sorento outperforms the Honda CR-V, Ford Escape, Mazda CX-5 and Toyota RAV4 at this point.
Kia continues to offer a seven- and third-row option in the Sorento, with the third row foldable for more cargo space.
The new V6 engine for the Sorento is rarely found in this class of cars. Mitsubishi Outlander is the only competitor with a V6 engine. The 2014 Sorento 3.3-liter direct-injection engine produces 290 horsepower and 252 pound-feet of torque. The engine that replaced the old 3.5-liter engine, the new engine’s fuel economy is estimated at 25 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway. The car comes with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Structural improvements for the 2014 Sorento model include what Kia calls an “all-engineered chassis,” bolstered by a subframe front suspension. And more steel used to strengthen the chassis.
Comprehensive updates also reached the Sorento from the inside. Kia has redesigned the dashboard and the new electric power steering system with an option (Flex Steer) with a host of other updates to the electronic link technology in the car.
