BYD will launch a luxury car under an independent brand in late 2021

Chinese brand BYD plans to launch an all-new luxury car model in the fourth quarter of 2021, according to Li Yunfei, BYD’s general manager of branding and public relations.
He revealed that the new model will be operated under the name of an independent brand with an independent sales network. The price of the car is expected to range between 500,000 yuan (78,300 US dollars) and 800,000 yuan (125,285 US dollars).

BYD’s passenger cars are not yet sold in the United States. Annual sales of plug-in electric vehicles in North America are expected to reach at least 1.1 million units by 2024, according to Navigant Research. The numbers are small now, but consider that they are starting from essentially zero.

A local media report revealed in January that BYD intends to launch an independent brand of New Energy Vehicle (NEV) in 2022 and the first vehicle will be built on the EV2.0 platform. BYD’s management considered that the current selling capacity was unable to support “the upscale essence in devices and services” to build a high-end brand, and therefore decided to recruit new investors for the agencies and develop new distribution channels, according to an informed source who declined to be named.https://platform.twitter.com/embed/Tweet.html?creatorScreenName=MallakyCars&dnt=true&embedId=twitter-widget-0&features=eyJ0ZndfZXhwZXJpbWVudHNfY29va2llX2V4cGlyYXRpb24iOnsiYnVja2V0IjoxMjA5NjAwLCJ2ZXJzaW9uIjpudWxsfSwidGZ3X2hvcml6b25fdHdlZXRfZW1iZWRfOTU1NSI6eyJidWNrZXQiOiJodGUiLCJ2ZXJzaW9uIjpudWxsfSwidGZ3X3NrZWxldG9uX2xvYWRpbmdfMTMzOTgiOnsiYnVja2V0IjoiY3RhIiwidmVyc2lvbiI6bnVsbH0sInRmd19zcGFjZV9jYXJkIjp7ImJ1Y2tldCI6Im9mZiIsInZlcnNpb24iOm51bGx9fQ%3D%3D&frame=false&hideCard=false&hideThread=false&id=1320957979097591809&lang=en&origin=https%3A%2F%2Ftest.mallaky.com%2Fbyd-%25d8%25b3%25d8%25aa%25d8%25b7%25d9%2584%25d9%2582-%25d8%25b3%25d9%258a%25d8%25a7%25d8%25b1%25d8%25a9-%25d9%2581%25d8%25a7%25d8%25ae%25d8%25b1%25d8%25a9%2F&sessionId=9e2e20297bb1f5254170342cccb3617a352d46de&siteScreenName=MallakyCars&theme=light&widgetsVersion=2582c61%3A1645036219416&width=550pxBYD’s tweet about its new electric version

In July 2020, BYD launched its flagship high -end NEV sedan under the name Han, and Han achieved massive sales in the market. For the first four months of this year, BYD Han was the second-largest NEV in China with retail sales of 27,099 units, according to the China Passenger Vehicle Association.

On the other hand , its BYD Han electric car achieved third place in the European car market sales , and it is a really good car. In terms of performance, the Han series comes with the world’s first MOSFET engine control unit, which feeds the car’s record acceleration of 3.9 seconds 0-100 km / hour. At the same time, Han’s braking distance is only 32.8 meters from 100 km / h to a standstill.

The Han EV’s long-range version’s impressive 605 kilometers of cruising range also gives it the world’s highest energy recovery rating, while the silver-coated double windshield and other energy-saving measures meet the real needs of users over its lifetime. The Han DM Hybrid comes with a pure electric cruising range of 81 km and more than 800 km of integrated range, along with five different power modes.

Han’s luxury is matched by intelligence, with smart features such as the NFC mobile key function, allowing users to easily unlock the car even if their phone is out of power or has no signal.

Han can be upgraded with higher-level functions including BYD’s Intelligent ICC Navigation System, Integrated Adaptive Flight System ICA, and TJA Traffic Jam Assist. Additionally, the premium and high-performance 4WD models offer Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Change Assist, Rear Collision Early Warning and other key functions, which can be upgraded to a comprehensive automatic parking function.

DiPilot also comes with a mode called DiTrainer, which selectively turns on driving assistance based on factors such as driving behaviour, road conditions, weather and even driving age. The DiLink 3.0 smart grille system comes with Intelligent Audio and DiUI upgrades, with a 15.6-inch Ultra HD 8-core adaptive rotary suspension, delivering the smartest luxury sedan.

BYD is a giant automobile and engine manufacturer. Such as SAIC Motor, Dongfeng Motor and BAIC Group, founded in 1995 as part of a rechargeable battery maker of the same name, acquired Cinchuan Automobile Company in 2002. BYD produces cars, buses, electric bicycles, forklifts, rechargeable batteries and trucks. The current model range includes electric, plug-in hybrid and petrol vehicles, and the Denza brand, a joint venture with Daimler AG, produces premium electric cars.

BYD has its own premium brand for cars, and BYD announced a pricing plan for the first car of the new high-end brand, more than 500,000 yuan, but it did not put much technical information, although we know that it is seeking to upgrade its brand.
