The 2023 Hyundai Palisade comes with a high-quality cabin, offers a smooth ride, and space for the whole family, which is the reason for the success of the Palisade for Hyundai. It is the brand’s largest SUV, graduating from the value-oriented base model to the luxury line model that best impresses with the Genesis GV80. The 2023 Hyundai Palisade houses a 3.8-liter V-6 engine under the hood.

The 2023 Hyundai Palisade’s engine delivers a smooth 291 horsepower through an eight-speed automatic transmission. While many connectivity and technology features are standard across the range, higher-end models are equipped with accessories such as a panoramic sunroof, in-dash navigation and quilted leather upholstery. Whichever model you choose, the cabin is a spacious and comfortable place for the whole family.
Hyundai introduced the three-row Palisade SUV in 2020. I liked its passenger and cargo functionality as well as its opulent, luxurious trimmings. It is a medium sized three row. The recently revised 2023 Hyundai Palisade is aimed at families seeking great value for money. With comprehensive safety equipment, technical innovation, a spacious interior, a pleasing exterior, and strong driving dynamics, it’s a solid choice.
Value for money Hyundai Palisade 2023
The 2023 Hyundai Palisade is a good value. Along with its sibling, the Kia Telluride offers best-in-class value, from driving experience to interior quality to standard and optional features. And the upper models give you a semi-luxury experience. I’m impressed with the Palisade’s quality and feel.
what’s new
- Updated front and back design
- Improved dashboard
- New model XRT
- Revisions to availability of standard and optional features
- Part of the first-generation Palisade introduced for the 2020 model year
The XRT model is a new offering in the lineup this year, but my favorite Palisade is the mid-range SEL model with the Premium package. It adds many of the best tech and luxury features, including a larger infotainment screen, in-dash navigation, and Hyundai’s most advanced driver assistance features.
Prices and models of the 2023 Hyundai Palisade
Hyundai will offer five different trim levels for 2023. Featuring: SE, SEL, XRT, Limited and Calligraphy, the standard model is the SE (base price around $35,000), followed by the SEL (base price around $38,000).
New for 2023 is the XRT Special Edition (base price around $40,000), which offers rugged exterior styling and black accents. Above it is the Limited model (base price $46,000). As for the higher model, its price is about $ 49,000.
2023 Hyundai Palisade competitors
The 2023 Hyundai Palisade faces many competitors, the most important of which is the Telluride from sister company Kia. Hyundai hopes the new look and some interior changes will arouse more interest from its competitors, the Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander and Volkswagen Atlas.
The exterior design of the 2023 Hyundai Palisade
A facelift for the 2023 model year gives the Palisade a more squared-off look. The new look is enhanced by updated wheel designs, and the aggressive-looking XRT model joins the lineup with 20-inch wheels, black exterior trim, and other design flourishes. This year’s model refresh definitely means the competition will continue.

Hyundai’s largest SUV gets a revised front design that closely ties in with the look of the brand’s other models. Specifically, there is a new, more luxurious Tucson-like front grille, the LED daytime running lights blend into the grille more smoothly, and the headlight clusters themselves are better integrated into the front bumper.

The iconic Hyundai Palisade has just been treated to a mid-cycle refresh, says Olabisi Boyle, Vice President, Product Planning and Mobility Strategy, Hyundai Motor North America. “The Palisade is the perfect family car for everyday use and road trips that make more memories than ever,” he said.

Passersby will notice the new front bumper fascia, complete with a redesigned grille, new headlamps, and daytime running lights. The updated appearance looks sophisticated, with a more pronounced and aggressive appearance than last year’s model. The rear bumper fascia has also been redesigned, with vertical LED tail lamps and a new integrated tow hitch cover on the lower part of the bumper.

The rear and side features did not change, and standard exterior mirrors with automatic dimming were added, and two newer designs for alloy wheels with a diameter of 18 and 20 inches, with multi-spoke wheels. The Palisade XRT closely matches what we’ve seen from the Santa Fe and Tucson XRTs. It has a darkened front grille, darkened lower door trim, darkened 20-inch wheels, black roof rack and black faux leather seats inside.
Interior cabin design of the 2023 Hyundai Palisade
The interior featured a fresh dash, with updated screens and a bit of new technology. The XRT gets a new livery that features a blacked-out grille, gloss black bezels and roof rails. a redesigned steering wheel, and updated upholstery options. New features include a Wi-Fi hotspot, heated third-row seats and a massage driver’s seat.

The Hyundai Palisade’s cabin blurs the lines between semi-luxury and luxury with an interior that is comfortable and well-equipped for all its occupants. Few controls are crammed into the central area, everything is well designed and simple to understand. The driving position provides strong visibility to the front and to the sides, and somewhat limited rear visibility can be compensated for by the optional Surround Vision Camera system.
Hyundai Palisade 2023 interior specifications
The cabin is well-appointed and blurs the lines between class and luxury to accommodate eight passengers. And for those looking for more space, they can choose the captain’s seats for the second row, which can accommodate three passengers. And you can easily access the third row with one touch.

The third row can be easily folded down for added convenience. The Ultrasonic Rear Passenger Alert system monitors the rear seats and reminds drivers to check the rear seats before exiting the vehicle.
The dashboard of the 2023 Hyundai Palisade
The automaker has updated the dashboard and switchgear. HVAC vents are cleanly integrated into the dashboard, the switchgear is streamlined, ambient lighting has been improved, and a new steering wheel design makes it easier to rest one’s hand while using the adaptive cruise control.

Even nicer is the upgrade of seat surfaces and materials (including optional Nappa leather). Premium models are equipped with the new Ergo Motion Driver seat (which provides pelvic, lower back or full body massage).
Hyundai Palisade 2023 car seats
The front seats provide a great combination of cornering support and long-distance comfort. The optional second-row captain’s seats are good and feel better than some of the front seats in other vehicles. And the third row is decent with a well-defined seat cushion.

Second and third row passengers will also find additional amenities. The second-row seats are designed to recline while keeping the armrests in a horizontal position, with third-row heating, and acoustic laminated glass to enhance cabin sound insulation.
The spaciousness and spaciousness of the Hyundai Palisade 2023
The rear doors open wide, and you can easily slide the optional second-row captain’s chairs up and out with the press of a button. Once you’re done, there’s a clear path to the third row seat.

The SE and SEL models seat eight passengers, while the Limited and Linear seating has a second-row captain’s seat reduce passenger capacity to seven. Either way, there’s plenty of room in all three rows for passengers. The second row features a button to move the seat forward for easy access to the third row.
Storage space in the 2023 Hyundai Palisade

Storing smaller items is almost a good thing: There’s a rather giant center trunk with a retractable lid, a second bin on the floor between the front passenger seats, and a traditional center console. and retractable cup holders. The compartments in the doors are narrow, but there is reasonable storage space in and under the center console.
Trunk of the 2023 Hyundai Palisade
Trunk space is ample, with 18 cubic feet behind the third row and 87 cubes with both rows folded down. Beyond that, the aperture opening is wide and adequate. There is also a useful compartment under the floor. For storing muddy or wet materials.

Total storage space is 46 cubic feet. Hands-free, the smart tailgate opens automatically upon sensing the proximity of the key.
Technology in the 2023 Hyundai Palisade
Hyundai has upgraded and enhanced Palisade’s technology. There are new USB-C ports, and wireless charging capacity has been upgraded from 5W to 15W for faster charging of devices. In addition to the latest Hyundai Digital Key (the system allows both smartphone systems to lock, unlock and start the vehicle). The updated 2023 Palisade is the first car in the company’s lineup to offer Wi-Fi hotspot capability to allow passengers to surf the Internet.

Distinctive edges provide a full-width rearview mirror – the camera-based system allows for an unobstructed view to the rear of the vehicle (it can be turned off at the touch of a button). Numerous USB-C ports are spread across the three rows and the central 12.3-inch touchscreen display with navigation offers many useful features.
Infotainment system in the 2023 Hyundai Palisade
A 12.0-inch touch-screen infotainment display, integration with both phone systems, in-dash navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Bluetooth connectivity are standard on all models.

Up to seven USB ports are available and you can connect two Bluetooth devices simultaneously. When equipped with Hyundai’s Blue Link app service, the Palisade can be locked, unlocked and started remotely through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. The sound quality of the 10-speaker system is decent, but not great.
2023 Hyundai Palisade engine
Mechanically, nothing has changed with the powertrain. With the same standard engine, a 3.8-liter V6 engine produces 291 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque, and sends power to the front wheels (FWD) through an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The engine’s power provides decent acceleration for the Palisade, and the Palisade’s transmission can be shifted manually using the steering wheel-mounted pedals. The gearbox shifts smoothly on its own, but there is some busy shuffling of the ratios when climbing hills.

The company’s HTRAC All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system is optional—it saves towing mode (and keeps lower gears longer for more power). And while the engine and transmission remain unchanged, the Palisade’s ride is marginally improved with new valve over suspension dampers, and the chassis has been beefed up to improve its stiffness.
Driving impressions of the 2023 Hyundai Palisade
During our test drive of the 2023 Hyundai Battleside, we enjoyed a smooth ride and a quiet cabin; We also did some light off-road testing and were convinced that the large SUV can handle terrain beyond what it offers in urban areas.
Hyundai Palisade 2023 speed
I tested the SEL all-wheel drive, and it delivered unexceptional acceleration results on the test track, accelerating from a standstill to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds, and Palisade needed 182 feet to stop from 70 mph. It proved to be slightly faster than the Telluride but still slower than the Chevrolet Traverse.

Passing can be done at high speed and with confidence. And in emergency braking tests, Palisade’s brakes have shown to be powerful and predictable. In routine driving, the brake pedal is easy to control for smooth stops.
Handling and stability in the 2023 Hyundai Palisade
Handling and steering are less aggressive, but the big Hyundai rarely feels sloppy or clumsy while driving around turns. Thanks to its smooth eight-speed automatic transmission, Palisade is a stress-free companion in both city and highway driving.
Noise and vibration in the 2023 Hyundai Palisade
Three-row SUVs don’t always seat about six or seven people, so there’s something to be said for feeling a little calmer when you’re on your own. There is minimal road and wind noise and the climate control system is quiet but effective.

road noise is suppressed; However, a large amount of wind noise penetrated the doors. Power-folding second and third row seats are optional on SEL and standard on Limited and Calligraphy.
Towing and traction capacity in the 2023 Hyundai Palisade

Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is optional on SE, SEL, and Limited trim levels; It’s standard in range-topping calligraphy. All Palisade models come standard with Transmission Cooler, Trailer Pre-Hitch and Sway Control. Rated to tow up to 5,000 pounds when equipped with a dealer-installed trailer hitch.
Fuel economy of the 2023 Hyundai Palisade
The EPA estimates that the all-wheel-drive Palisade gets 21 mpg in combined city/highway driving. And they were able to match that against our test car on the real-world evaluation course of 115 miles.

According to the EPA, the front-wheel-drive Palisade achieves a rating of 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. On the highway test track, the all-wheel-drive SEL model could only manage 23 mpg.
