A car battery explosion is one of the serious matters that may occur during its maintenance and result in severe damage, so the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization provided a set of tips to avoid exposure to this disaster,
Among the most important of these tips are:
- Not to use regular water inside the car battery or while preparing the acid, and specialists also warn against pouring water on the acid when preparing the liquid.
- Washing the battery from time to time, then it is re-supplied with acid and recharged again, provided that the washing process takes place after disconnecting the battery from the electrical circuit and removing it from its place completely
- The contents of the acid must be emptied and distilled water must be replaced with it several times until we see that the water is free of sediment, then after that the battery must be filled with acid again, taking into account that its density is in the range of 1,265-1 and 290, then the battery is charged again.
- It is also recommended to keep the battery completely away from sources of flame, especially in the final charging stages, due to the exit of hydrogen and oxygen gases near the end of the charging process, so as not to lead to an explosion.
