GM has shared new details regarding the off-road testing program for the 2022 GMC Hummer EV
MOAB, Utah – General Motors has called its all-new 2022 Hummer EV the Quiet Revolution, announcing that GMC’s Hummer EV will undergo rigorous off-road testing in the run-up to its production launch this fall. Watch the GMC HUMMER EV team put the world’s first all-electric truck through its tricky stride near Moab, Utah, proving its off-road capability.

Single Pedal Technology in the GMC Hummer EV
Traversing legendary trails through Moab, the team’s testing and calibration included adaptive air suspension, Extraction Mode 1, Terrain mode, one-pedal drive control, e4WD and torque distribution, eLockers, stability control, rear-wheel steering, the CrabWalk3 and more.

The
electric GMC Hummer EV has a technology known as Available Terrain Mode, which is part of the driving mode control system in the electric GMC Hummer, in addition to two brake calibrations, with a light braking option for driving by two feet, and
a single-pedal driving control system designed for the purpose We are designated for low-speed off-road driving .
As a leading feature of General Motors electric cars over other cars,

One-pedal technology allows the driver to accelerate and decelerate using just the accelerator pedal.
When operating in Terrain mode, the same single-pedal drive control system is adapted to unique calibrations for limited-speed off-road driving, helping the driver overcome steep inclines, rock crawling and other challenging terrain without the need to switch between the throttle. and brake pedal.

Engineers are also testing an “extract mode” on the GMC Hummer EV, an available feature that raises the suspension height by about 6 inches, as well as the one-pedal drive system and the available all-terrain mode.
Terrain mode, on the other hand, integrates single-pedal driving capabilities with a specific suspension and calibrates the powertrain during off-road driving, allowing the driver to navigate challenging terrain without constantly switching between the accelerator and brake pedals.

The maker describes her as an absolute beast
“Single-pedal driving provides a great feeling of control by improving regenerative braking, friction brakes and throttle-thrust engine torque,” said Aaron Pfau, chief development engineer for GMC Hummer EV.
“Drivers will quickly realize the benefits once they try it off-road.”
Bugaw described the GMC Hummer EV as a blank canvas that was filled by a dedicated team of engineers who are passionate about off-road driving.

Pfau went on to explain that the GMC Hummer EV’s engineering team, made up of many off-road enthusiasts, were given a blank slate to start with during the car’s development process.
The end result is an uncompromising off-road vehicle that Pfau describes as “an absolute off-road beast that will take you to new places.”

GMC shared a video on its social media pages this week showing a Hummer EV traversing tough terrain in Utah.
A GMC fan also spotted a prototype Hummer EV parked on the streets of Salt Lake City late last month, indicating that the off-road testing program has been active for at least two weeks.

The first version of the new electric Hummer 2022 GMC Hummer EV will enter production at General Motors’ GM Factory Zero, based in Michigan, USA, and production will start later this year once the testing programs are over.

With the rush to production this fall, the Hummer EV pickup arrives as a 2022 model year vehicle. The truck will have a slow rollout, as it’s due to arrive strictly in $112,595 Edition 1 trim, which comes fully loaded with a tri-motor electric powertrain that produces an estimated 1,000 hp.
