It is performed on high-speed engines during the final development phase of the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport.

The long-tailed Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is back , though it lost the suffix, to tell us that it crossed over the “300+” Special Edition, the record-breaking version that sold out instantly when it debuted in the summer of 2019. Molsheim had tracked all the car’s data and recorded a top speed of 304.773 mph (490,484 km/h), and of course this does not mean that the new version of the Super Sport may be slow.
In order to record all relevant data with the accuracy and efficiency of the incoming monster, for last-minute adjustments, Molsheim installed a prototype with approximately 100 additional sensors that record temperature, pressure and other basic information.
100 devices to test Bugatti Chiron Sport at its maximum speedAt these speeds, the Chiron Super Sport is a true killer, and there is no room for error as evidenced by one of the adjacent images showing the front end of the prototype.
All speed testing, including sprinting from idle mode to top speed, was conducted to check for any potential kinks before deliveries to customers begin in late August.
Even at its top speed of 273 mph, Bugatti states that the latest version of the 8.0-liter quad-turbo machine makes no compromises in terms of safety.

And
there’s more to the Chiron Super Sport than the extended and extra power over the standard model as engineers tweaked the transmission as well.
The seven-speed dual-clutch doesn’t shift into the seventh until it hits 250 mph (403 km/h) while the final gear is 3.6 percent longer.
This helps the engine, which puts out 1,577 hp (1,176 kW), and enables the supercar to “accelerate hard” even after the 400 km/h mark is reached.

Speaking of which, hitting 248.5 mph (400 km/h) takes just 28.6 seconds after accelerating from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.4 seconds, taking off from 0-124 mph. clocked (200 km/h) in 5.8 seconds, and from 0-186 mph (300 km/h) in 12.1 seconds, which is a full second faster than the standard Chiron.
Sure, that’s not the ballistic acceleration of the electric supercar, say Rimac Nevers, but as for a combustion car, few production cars will ever get anywhere near the Chiron Super Sport.

The Chiron Super Sport is the model with which Bugatti entered the history of speed records, and is the first car in the world to exceed the top speed limit of 300 mph with an unmodified engine. €1 million (about $3.8 million) before taxes and also before “a great variety of options for personal customization”.
Yes, there are car add-ons that actually cost millions of dollars.
