Hyundai Ioniq 5 N

  • It is a high-performance electric crossover hatchback that will come loaded with unique features thanks to its high performance.
  • It is currently under development, particularly in the final stages of its development programme. The Ioniq 5 N prototype is reportedly being tested in public, particularly at the Nürburgring.
  • It is also worth noting that it is an N-badged sports version of the Ioniq 5 created by Hyundai’s “N” high-performance division.
  • It will be a new competitor to the latest Tesla Model 3, Volkswagen Golf R and Mercedes-AMG A 45.
  • It will come in a larger size than the 2023 Hyundai Tucson, have a longer wheelbase than the 2023 Hyundai Palisade, and share with the Kia EV6 GT its Electric-Global Modular Platform (e-GMP), which means that it will have a power of approximately 600 horsepower.

Specifications of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N

Exterior design

  • As shown in the teaser video, the car got a body that includes a large, bolder front grille, and has a bright red front splitter, reminiscent of the previous N cars, but it is smaller and has wider openings than the standard car.
  • Despite the external camouflage that covered as much of the body as possible, the hood, rims and headlights can still be seen.
  • It still features all the best parts of the Ioniq, including its sleek LED lights, ultra-clear sheet metal, and squared-off rear end.
  • The sides of the car got modifications that distinguish them from the exterior design, including the installation of extended side skirts with red accents, wide wheel moldings, matte black sports rims, and huge brakes, which are also significantly lower.
  • In addition to the unique exterior design elements that will be available in the upcoming N Sport version, such as different front and rear bumpers, distinctively designed tires, and other sporty details.
  • From the rear, the rear diffuser is more aggressive than the standard car, there is a larger spoiler emerging from the tailgate, and it will have a large rear roof spoiler with a new rear spoiler.

Interior Design

  • As for the interior, the interior of the new car has not yet been shown, however, we do not expect a great deal of change inside the cabin, focusing mainly on the sporty appearance, such as sports seats, steering wheel, red accents, dark decorative colors, and a large number of ‘N’ badge.

Mechanical specifications

  • The brand has not yet provided details of the technical specifications, but expectations indicate that the new car will be presented as a fully electric car, and it will contain two electric motors that together produce 577 horsepower (430 kilowatts) and a maximum torque of 740 Newton / meter (546 lb / ft). .
  • Instead of the two current electric motors in the regular Ioniq 5 that put out 320 hp (239 kW) in their most powerful guise.
  • It will retain the 77.4 kWh battery pack, which will power its twin electric motors.
  • Like its sibling, the Kia EV6 GT, both are based on the same e-GMP underpinnings, so the more powerful pair of electric motors and larger battery pack will bolt directly to Hyundai.
  • It will move within an AWD all-wheel drive system, and will enjoy a drift mode.
  • It can also accelerate from 0-96 km/h (0-60 mph) in just 3.5 seconds.
  • Hyundai electric crossover will reportedly have a stiffer sports suspension that provides the highest levels of stability, dynamic torque vectoring and Pirelli P Zero tires, with the use of some adaptive dampers to help keep the car under control in corners.
  • To take advantage of the extra power, the brand has made some changes to the chassis. The ride height of this prototype is lower than that of the standard car, while its track is wider, and its new alloy wheels are wider and shod in larger Pirelli P Zero tires.
