Chrysler unveils new, production-ready EV concept

Screens and plenty of cool technology dominate Chrysler’s latest production-ready concept

Chrysler was there, and there was something for everyone at the Electric Vehicle Day held at Stellentis last week. It featured a lot like the electric Ram or the hybrid Jeep Grand Cherokee, in addition to the powerful electric Dodge car. However, the company did not forget Chrysler, whose illustrious past was little more than a shadow of what it was before.

Chrysler Overview

The French-Italian-American automaker has sneaked some images of Chrysler’s intriguing electric EV concept built on the group’s large STLA platform in the lengthy video of its electrification plans.

Although Chrysler now only has a few models in the US , such as the Pacifica minivan and 300 sedan, Stellantes CEO Carlos Tavares said earlier this year that the brand will be an important component of the company’s portfolio going forward.

For years, the automaker has been working on a two-row SUV-like vehicle, with inspiration drawn from cars like the Java and Portal concepts. There appears to be finally optimism about the future of the brand, and Chrysler enthusiasts can credit the Stellantis electric revolution announced for this, taking that vision a huge step forward during EV Day 2021 .

Chrysler electric car exterior design
The concept presented by Ralph Giles, chief design officer at Chrysler, appears to be a pre-production vehicle rather than a design study, meaning we won’t have to wait long for it to be officially revealed.

Thin, sporty, intricate LED headlights with a false upper grille that protrudes through the Chrysler wing add to the signature Chrysler wing, and downward the larger lower “grille” is the visual drama of the front fascia.
The side profile is aggressive and sporty, to say the least, with design features such as “floating roof” technology, integrated door handles and massive two-tone wheels.
The rear end isn’t shown, but the tilting rear screen and horizontal taillights are a good thing.
Gill claims that Stellantis design studios have been working on the large STLA platform and cars based on it for some time now.
Interior Design
The cabin is high-tech and reminiscent of a Jeep Grand Wagoneer, especially in terms of the number of digital screens.
The largest is located in the center of the instrument cluster, complementing the digital instrument panel located behind the steering wheel.
The large screens serve the front and rear passengers.
Up front, there’s a rotary transmission, dual cup holders, flat bottom, overhead steering wheel and shaped seats, while dual front seat back entertainment screens are dedicated to rear passengers.
the performance
We also know that larger STLA vehicles will have batteries ranging from 101 to 118 kWh.
The expected range would be around 500 miles in the best case scenario.
Finally, this platform will be compatible with two electric motor or EDM units, one with outputs ranging from 125 to 180 kW and one with outputs from 150 to 330 kW.
When will the new Chrysler be released?
There is no information on a release date yet, however,
Stellantis has declared 2024 the year of the Great Electric Revolution .
If that model is released, it could be called the ATLANTIC as the Fiat Chrysler, but the name of the new car is currently pending.
