Hanal Motors uses Alcantara products on 4 Chevrolet models for China
He worked General Motors over the past few years actively to renew its brand image Chevrolet fully in China, which is the largest auto market in the world. General Motors has developed a unique trim level strategy for the Asian country, focusing on the Redline Edition and RS Sport Edition, and the automaker has just launched a new custom interior for several Chevy models in the Chinese market.
In fact, Chevrolet has just announced a strategic partnership with the Italian manufacturer of Alcantara, offering new custom and color interior finishes for four basic models in China, including the new Chevy Blazer, the updated Chevy Equinox, and also the Chevy Menlo model. Electric Chevy Menlo EV and Chevy Malibu XL , the latter serving as the brand’s flagship sedan in China.
As such, Chevrolet became the first mainstream brand to introduce an Alcantara interior package on several of its models in China, aiming to reinforce its commitment to positioning itself as a brand focused primarily on a younger customer base while continuing to transform to beautify its image in the Asian country. In fact, the only models that offer an Alcantara cabin as standard belong to luxury or supercar brands.
In this new interior, the Alcantara cabin will cover all the areas that users touch daily, such as the center console, steering wheel, center armrest, seats and dashboard as well as the front and rear doors.

Previously, suede-like materials were available on many Chevrolet models in North America, but not as widespread as this one.
In addition, customers can choose the Alcantara interior in one of the following five colours: Frost Gray, Maple Red, Celestic Blue, Amber Brown and Sapphire Gray – which will be combined with black interior panels and a range of custom stitching for this cabin. The idea is to enhance the quality. Perceived the interior in the four target models and offer an exclusive advantage to attract new customers.
The new Alcantara interior will be fitted as standard on the Blazer, Equinox, Menlo EV and, finally, the existing 2021 Malibu XL for China built from May onwards. Thanks to the extensive cooperation with the Alcantara manufacturer in China, Chevrolet will make the classic American design more distinctive and attractive to domestic customers in the Chinese market.
