Leading brand Cadillac unveiled its new 2025 Celeste, with a rich and vibrant fantasy cabin during its presentation at the CES trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada, later in 2021.
It’s just a show car at the moment, but the Cadillac Celestic It has all the hallmarks of a flagship luxury sedan and , above all, features an electric all-wheel drive transmission with a driving range of at least 300 miles. Celestiq was shown at the 2021 CES trade show,
The Celeste is the sister car to the upcoming Lyriq SUV, but Cadillac promises more groundbreaking tech, including transparent glass roof panels. The cabin is also very spacious, depending on the model shown at the exhibition, and the large infotainment screen extends completely the width of the dashboard. Cadillac says the Celestiq should be launched by 2025 and is likely to be a springboard for GM’s latest and greatest technology.
What’s new in Celeste for 2025?
General Motors will enter the Celestiq into production as an all-new model for the Cadillac lineup, noting that we won’t start seeing platforms like this for a few more years.
But it’s not known if Cadillac will continue its contemporary levels in the future, especially as its lineup moves to all-electric powertrains like those on the Celestiq and Lyriq.
We believe Celestiq will carry a premium to much more than Lyriq, which is said to be targeting a base price of around $60,000.
GM’s entry-level pricing is closer to the six-figure range, making it better suited to a vehicle with flagship capabilities.
Engine, transmission and performance in Celeste
Cadillac hasn’t released much information about the Celestiq’s powertrain yet, but we know it will be all-wheel drive and offer all-wheel steering.
This likely means two electric motors – one for each axle – and acceleration performance similar to the Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan.
But Cadillac will take some time before we can test the Celestiq, but when we do, we’ll update this story with more information and impressions and display the test results.
RANGE, CHARGING AND BATTERY LIFE

The Celestiq will draw its electrons from a Ultium-type battery pack that can run up to 100 kWh.
Cadillac says the driving range will be at least 300 miles per charge;
And if larger battery packs are offered as options, the vehicle’s maximum range may be better.
For the record, the longest driving distance for the Tesla Model S is 402 miles, and the Lucid Air, on the other hand, boasts a range of 517 miles.
Fuel economy and MPG in the real world

There’s no word yet on GM’s fuel-economy ratings on the Celestiq, and we likely won’t know for a while how efficient the all-electric luxury sedan will be.

Interior, comfort and cargo

From the dashboard that’s essentially a single giant digital display, the Celestiq’s cabin will be a technological powerhouse that will give Cadillac buyers everything they can do with premium quality.
The car will come with four bucket seats, which means that each passenger will enjoy their own space bubble.
On the other hand, the roof consists of four panes of glass that can be adjusted from transparent to opaque or somewhere in between.
Each passenger can control his own little corner of the sky and the panoramic roof, which is divided into four sections.
We expect Cadillac to offer high-quality materials including genuine leather, open-pore wood and real metallic accents, as well as attractive and comfortable seating.
We’ll have to wait for Cadillac to reveal more information about the Celestiq before we know exactly how this flagship from the flagship brand will be outfitted.
Despite the sedan’s body shape, Cadillac says the Celestiq is technically a hatchback, which bodes well for cargo space.
Information, entertainment and communication

Most luxury cars boast large infotainment displays measuring 10.3 or 12.3 inches in diameter, but the Celestiq is going straight out of the future with a touchscreen that extends the entire length of the car’s dashboard.
Rear seat passengers can also enjoy their large screens to watch movies, check the web or control the car’s stereo system.
Speaking of stereos, we expect Cadillac to continue its partnership with premium audio provider AKG, and this system can include speakers inside each headrest as in the latest Escalade SUV-equipped vehicle.
Safety and driver assistance features

Cadillac hasn’t provided details on driver-assistance features yet except to say that Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving technology will appear on the Celestiq.
We expect it to be standard by the time the vehicle hits the market.
Other basic driver aids will likely be standard as well.
For more information on crash test results for the Celestiq,
visit the websites of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and
the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS ).
Key safety features include standard Automatic Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection, standard lane departure warning with lane-keep assist, and standard adaptive cruise control with semi-autonomous driving mode.
Warranty and maintenance coverage

Like the rest of the Cadillac lineup, we’ll come with the Celestiq with a powertrain warranty that outperforms other luxury sedans.
Cadillac will also currently cover your first dealer visit, but competitors such as the BMW 7-series offer longer free service intervals.
We expect the Celestiq battery warranty to match that of the Chevy Bolt to extend the warranty to eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Compared to the prior forecast released in 2017, EV sales are estimated to be 1.4 million in 2025 versus 1.2 million.
