Kinetik Automotive has developed the first track-ready electric car, and is campaigning to raise funds to build its new car.
When we think of electric cars, the first thing that comes to mind is Tesla, the brand that started the electric car revolution in the modern era. Then there’s also Rimac and the Nevera hyper EV, or some more popular names like Porsche, the Taycan. A small Bulgarian manufacturer called Kinetik Automotive might not come to mind . The company is currently cooking an epic electric car, but the small car maker has been hit by unfortunate events that put its new car development process on hold.
Why stop development?
Unfortunately, the Kinetik Automotive headquarters caught fire and the young car factory in Varna was engulfed in flames due to a short circuit.
The fire was eventually extinguished, but after extensive damage to the building and equipment.
In order to negate the setback, Kinetic Motors turned to the public for help, which
reminded me of Egyptian attempts to manufacture an electric car .
The company is running a crowdfunding campaign, and the company hopes to raise the $115,625 it needs to rebuild the facility that caught fire on April 14 this year. The crowdfunding campaign is still underway with only 17 days left.
It has raised $54,824 so far.
Kinetic 07
Kinetik Automotive was launched in 2016, with the aim of building the first electric sports car focused on the racetrack.
Its first car was designed by Kinetik 07. The car got the shape of the Barchetta body, which is an Italian name that means small boat, which means that there is no windshield.
And the car body itself is fully 3D-printed.
The fledgling electric EV was equipped with two seats on a Caterham Seven chassis, but in production the Kinetik 07 weighed about half a ton, due to its electric motors, but it compensated for this weight with more force.
This is even though the Kinetik 07 prototype had much lower numbers, the production version differed slightly, and despite the increased weight the Kinetik has a combined power of 644 horsepower, allowing the two-seater small boat to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 mph). km/h) in just 2.7 seconds.
The Kinetik 07 includes
a full software suite, including digital information displays. In addition to being the manufacturer of the first electric car focused on the track, Kinetik Automotive also prides itself on producing all components in-house, and there is absolutely nothing built on the outside of the Kinetik 07, except for the modified Caterham Seven chassis.
If the small manufacturer can raise the funds needed to continue its business, the Kinetik 07 has the potential to change the stereotype of electric cars and rebrand them as fun and attractive.
Then we can film the Kinetik Cup racing series, sometime in the future.
