1. How did Urus catch the world’s attention

Since it first appeared when President Vladimir Putin assumed his presidential duties in 2018, it caught everyone’s attention and some wondered about the possibility of putting it in the Middle East. The modified version of the car for commercial production comes with a hybrid drive system consisting of a 4.4-liter V8 eight-cylinder engine that produces 598 horsepower and 880 Nm of torque, developed in cooperation with Porsche, and is linked to a nine-speed automatic gearbox of the Kate R932 model developed in Russia. And between them is a 62-horsepower electric motor with four-wheel drive.

The Urus Senat will be available in a sedan version, similar to the Russian president’s car, but on a shorter wheelbase, and it features the best types of Russian natural leather for the cabin seats, premium wood on the dashboard, ignition switches and metal buttons.

Expectations for the cost of one car were about 95,500 and 111,500 US dollars, but the version prepared for commercial production is offered for sale in a Russian exhibition at a price of 18 million rubles (that is, about 245,000 US dollars).

The UAE “Tawazun Holding” owns a 36% share of the project, while the Central Institute for Scientific Research of Automotive Engines and Vehicles NAMI holds the largest share of 63.5%. The Defense, Security and Development Fund invested $127.8 million in Tawazun Holding.
